About sport
Floorball is a modern team sport that originated in Scandinavia in the 1970s. Thanks to its dynamism, simple equipment, and accessibility, it quickly gained popularity around the world. Today it is among the most widespread indoor sports in Europe and is popular with recreational players and professional teams.
The basic principle of the game is simple. Two teams try to score as many goals as possible against their opponent using lightweight plastic sticks and a perforated ball. It is played on a rink similar to ice hockey, but the rules emphasize technique, speed, and fair play. Floorball is suitable for all age groups and offers an ideal combination of exercise, teamwork, and fun.

Rules
Floorball is played indoors on a rink measuring 40 × 20 meters, bounded by boards with rounded corners.
The match is played as 3 × 20 minutes of effective time with two ten-minute breaks; if the score is tied, overtime and possibly shootouts follow.
There are at most 6 players from one team on the court (5 field players + goalkeeper), substitutions are unlimited, and the roster may include up to 20 players.
The goal is to score more goals than your opponents score against you.
The goalkeeper must not have a stick; they catch in a mask and specific equipment. Field players must have a floorball stick and mandatory indoor gear that must not be dangerous to others.
The face-off is taken by two players against each other, without physical contact and with the blade perpendicular to the center line; it is used at the start of periods, after a goal, after a foul, or in a disputed situation.
A free hit follows an opponent's infringement, is taken from the place of the infringement, and opponents must be at least 3 meters from the ball.
A restart is performed if the ball leaves the court, and it proceeds in the same way as a free hit.
A penalty shot is awarded for illegally preventing a goal-scoring chance, for example by moving the goal or by an illegal intervention in the goal area; it is taken by one attacker against the goalkeeper.
Penalties can be for 2, 5, 10 minutes or until the end of the match. A two-minute penalty ends if the opponent scores a goal; in a delayed penalty, play is stopped only after the offending team gains possession of the ball.
A goal counts if the ball fully crosses the goal line from the front, after a proper play with the stick, and the attacking team has not previously committed an infringement.
